User talk:Dark Matter/Boilerplate Quest Test
From Hellgatewiki.com
Explanatory Text
I think we should have coloured text for the explanatory sentences that are to be deleted. As far as I know, it is possible to make a boilerplate page that you can call with a template, save and it will paste in all you need, then one can edit and add what is needed. User:GoodWill knows more, but he seems a bit negative towards HGL, so I don't know if we will be continuously honoured by his company =( --Leord 13:37, 22 November 2007 (CET)
Hints & Tips
Should the Hints & Tips section be left intact for users to fill out? Most of the quests I've added have no useful Hints & Tips at creation, but any that do (A Truth Spoken for example) might not be obvious on a single play-through with only 1 class. Another consideration is that aside from names & objectives most quest information will, by necessity, refer to Objects\Locations in the world. Depending on how we intend to handle such Hints & Trivia, the Hints section may not even be necessary. --Nobody Important 13:56, 22 November 2007 (CET)
- Yeah, I think we should keep the section on all of them, even if they only contain "No known X for Y". Sorry, I don't understand the last part. --Leord 14:33, 22 November 2007 (CET)
- Virtually everything about a quest is referring to an Area, Item, Demon, NPC, etc, and we have categories\pages for those. See Night of the Zombies trivia for a good example of both cases: Typhoid Mary, and Night of the Living Dead. - While some trivia may be related to quest names\goals, hints will be about the Objects\Locations they are referring to. If we choose to (re)move that information to the NPC page rather than mirror it on the quests that involve them, the Hints & Tips section would likely be useless. --Nobody Important 15:18, 22 November 2007 (CET)
