The character name is a reference to Captain James TIBERIUS Kirk from the original Star Trek television show. The voice for this character is also a mocking representation of the way William Shatner played said Capt. Kirk. (Not just the voice, but the odd formatting of the dialogue text in which various words are over-emphasized and others are strung together with hyphens to indicate a quicker speaking cadence.)
