Wart and his oblique references to being a squire and knight may possibly be a subtle nod to the 1963 Disney movie Sword in the Stone. The main character in that movie was a young boy named Wart, who eventually was revealed to be Arthur. As in, King Arthur. I need to revisit his quest lines to check his dialog. --Mileron 23:25, 19 November 2007 (CET)

Well, he mentions being a squire, or a helper of the great hero (you) but he has mostly references to Wirt from Diablo 1, having information he sells for cash. Same goes for Wirt's Leg etc. --Leord 13:24, 4 December 2007 (CET)

Character References

The NPC questgiver Gil, I believe, is a reference to Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmore. All of his quests have Pink Floyd song titles (Hey You, Dogs of War, Us and Them, Shine On..., etc.) Also, he tends to speak in poetic language, implying a history of creating lyrics... I don't remember which act he's in, but I believe he can be found a Monument Station.
