Talk:Covent Garden Station
From Hellgatewiki.com
Was looking at the page for Charing Cross and decided the semi-boilerplate-ish nature of the NPC listing shown there by Dark Matter worked better than my alphabetical list. Not sure exactly where Techsmith 22 fits, as I do not recall him having a quest leg. --Mileron 06:03, 17 November 2007 (CET)
- Speaking of the NPC list, it's another place where there's wasted space. What do we think of this? --Cydira 20:22, 5 December 2007 (CET)
- I like it, perhaps using 2 columns for quest givers, to make the whole table less high (only one title column ofc), as there are usually most quest NPCs on a station. NPCs with no function at all was an interesting thing that I had not thought about. I suppose Murmur will end up there in all stations except Holborn? Also 80% width does not mean that the columns inside that table needs to just be 80% in total, they are a percentage of the table itself, regardless of the width of the able ;) --Leord 13:32, 6 December 2007 (CET)
- Gotcha about the percentages in the table. I must have had sleepy brain when I did this one. The two columns for quest-givers looks better, I think. The devs might add more quest-givers, but not more stand-arounders. ;) We can expand it to 100% width for an extra column, too, if we need it in the future.
- Murmur will be in almost all the stations, but that shouldn't impact the table. Does anyone else have thoughts on displaying NPCs in Stations in a table instead of a list? --Cydira 20:02, 10 December 2007 (CET)
- I think we can go with this as a change tbh. But I think we'll keep 80% width even if they influx with lots of NPCs. Many other boxes are 80%, it is nice if they are uniform. --Leord 12:25, 11 December 2007 (CET)

I went with Test 3 (without the Test 3 heading, of course). I made sure the headings link to something useful. (Or something that will be useful as it's filled out). --Cydira 08:43, 11 December 2007 (CET)
- Good. That looks nice! I was just thinking we might want to change "Quest-Givers" to "Quest NPCs", for the logical reason that some NPCs might be involved in quests without being a giver, and it is a logical way to group NPCs, just like in the categories. --Leord 12:25, 11 December 2007 (CET)
- I don't have any preference between "Quest-Givers" and "Quest NPCs". If you want to change them in each station, knock yourself out. --Cydira 21:12, 19 December 2007 (CET)
- Sounds good. But what do you mean? Isn't this used as a template? It would only need to be changed once! --Leord 22:38, 19 December 2007 (CET)
- Hee. Yes, that part only needs to be changed once. The real ones in the stations are from the template. I just finished going through every station to set it up, and I musta been stuck on that. Mostly that I never want to do that again for this. :) --Cydira 23:51, 19 December 2007 (CET)
- I was wrong. (I shouldn't post at all when I need a nap.) I didn't do it as a template. It's a table in each station, so that it can be tweaked for each station (I wasn't sure what would happen in the future, and it seemed the best way to go). Some stations, like Green Park Station and Mark Lane Station have a different table. If Stonehenge seems to have the same distribution and number of NPCs in its "station"(s), then maybe I'll make it a template and just not use the template in the stations with very few NPCs. Or if someone else wants to go through and make the regular stations have a template, feel free. It's not a priority of mine right now. It looks good and does what it needs to. Tweaks can wait while so much still needs doing. --Cydira 03:30, 20 December 2007 (CET)
