A being that has been phased is partially removed from the present dimension. While caught in limbo between the two worlds it is more vulnerable to attacks and weakened physically.

Overview

Phase is a game mechanic debuff that can be applied by players and demon, although more commonly it is only used by named-demons and bosses. A phased creature or player glows and emits purple glitter.


Effects

A phased character/demon is more susceptible to attacks - taking 50% more damage. The damage the phased character/demon inflicts is also decreased by 50%.


Timing

The phased debuff lasts for varying amounts of time based on the skill used to apply it. It appears that the debuff also uses an incrementing return; increasing the duration based on how many times it has been applied within a certain time period.


Applying phase

The following abilities can be used by players to phase demons or other players;


Guardian

Marksman

Summoner

Miscellaneous

  • All spectral damage has a chance to phase the target


Resisting phase

The following abilities help to prevent players from becoming phased;

Guardian

  • Aura of Salvation - lowers the chance for the Guardian to be affected by all the states; ignite, poison, stun, knockdown and phase.

Empowering phase

The following abilities give the player a higher chance to phase a hostile target or increase the potency of phase.

Blademaster

  • Aura of the Elements - Increases the amount of damage the Blademaster inflicts to a phased target (as well as empowering the other 5 states). A Blademaster can only phase a target by using a weapon (or mod) that inflicts spectral damage.

Guardian

  • Shield Bash - Increases the damage the Guardian inflicts to a phased target.
  • Shield Turn - Increases the damage the Guardian inflicts to a phased target.
  • Shield Master - Increases the length of time the Guardian phases a target for.
