Grenadier
From Hellgatewiki.com
This weapon infuses ancient myth into a highly-modified grenade launcher. By utilizing rounds filled with the long-forgotten alchemical solution known as "Greek Fire", the Grenadier is well suited to burn their unholy targets to the ground. In practical terms, the weapon lobs grenades that combust into a fiery splash and fill the targeted area with extremely hot, long-burning fire that is strangely resistant to the effects of water and chemical extinguishers.Named after the famous 17th and 18th century British siege/assault troops that gained a reputation of being courageous and fearsome soldiers, the Grenadier is a tactical support weapon that is commonly employed by the Templar. While other types of ammunition have been created, the Holy Fire round is standard issue.

We have a lot of stats for the Grenadier thanks to this hover image of it from an old gameplay movie. It's hard to read, and most of the values are likely changed by now, but have some fun considering the possible variables. Every projectile weapon in Hellgate: London has a firing rate, damage type and value, range, requirements to equip, and more. Those nitty gritty stats are going to be what matters when it comes to choosing equipment; not just how the gun looks. However, since those values are not released in advance and are subject to a lot of play test balancing, we have to go more by looks and concepts in these pre-beta days.
The Grenadier was originally called "the peacemaker," a name since given to another pistol weapon. ([Early promotional artwork].
The grenadier hurls fire grenades. They do not have a great deal of range (though that might be improved by mods) but they blow up real good upon impact, dealing physical damage (shrapnel?) and fire splash damage. You do not need to hit your target directly to hurt them with this gun. You don't even need a target; it's fun simply to shoot it and watch the bangs, as this Templar demonstrates.
It's hard to see the mod effects on a Grenadier, but the actual mods couldn't be more obvious. The huge fuel mod sticking off the top right is impossible to miss, and Grenadiers also prominently-display the much rarer Relic mods; note the bone socketed on the left of this one.Grenadiers kick when fired; bouncing up to head height. This motion slows their firing rate and causes the blast plate to flap up. This is very obvious in gameplay movies or when playing the game, but harder to notice in screenshots. Look at the gun on the left in this image, for example.
Grenadier shots are slow, arcing upwards before dropping to earth. It's important to lead the target a bit, or fast-moving enemies will zip under the bomb before it lands, as the Winged Imp has done in the image below.
