Secured from fallen demons, these dark blades can be controlled and wielded by a warrior with enough strength of mind and soul. The arcane runes etched in the jagged, ebon blade glow with vile power, emitting small wisps of noxious fumes. The mere touch of this sword can be deadly, and when delivered with force, it is devastating.

The Corrupt Blade followed an interesting path into the game. It looked like this, initially. A black sword with red runes on it, which we naturally called the Runesword. We didn't know anything more about it than that, but figured it probably did fire damage or that the runes indicated some special property against powerful monsters (the kind that had runeshields in older screenshots).

At some point during development, that all changed. The runes turned green, the damage changed to poison, and the name was now Corrupt Blade. (Really though, shouldn't be be "corrupted blade" if the demons have twisted it, or "corrupting blade" if it's named for what it does to the target?
