Factions are the term for the types of characters you see in Hellgate: London. Unlike most RPGs, with their strict "classes" or "races," the characters in Hellgate: London are all humans, differentiated simply by their training and abilities. A faction is akin to a clan, and while you must choose to be a Templar, Cabalist, or Hunter when you create your new character, the path you follow from there is up to you. (So long as you enjoy killing monsters.)
