A "caster class" is a general term for a character class that mainly uses spells. It is often associated with "Area of Effect" spells that can hit many opponents at once, ways to slow or hinder your opponents from moving, or hitting you as well as being a "glass cannon", doing a lot of damage, but not being able to survive very man hits themselves. A "caster class" is not the same as a "Pet Class", even if they sometimes have very much in common.
