This hover info is from early in 2005, and doesn't likely have much to connect it to the current state of the weapon. The Boneshredder has also been known as the Boneripper, and has not been seen in any gameplay movies or screenshots since this early one.

Lanth was able to use the Boneshredder during his play time at Flagship Studios in September 2006. He reports that the weapon was powerful and that it functioned much like the Flak Cannon from Unreal Tournament; capable of dealing heavy damage to nearby targets, but less to a distant group, due to the spreading nature of the shots.
