Augmentrex 3000

The Augmentrex 3000 is a device that can imbue items with extra enhancements for a reconfiguration fee. The amount of Palladium charged for this process depends upon the item level and the rarity of the enhancement requested. Augmentations can be purchased for an item until the item has four Special Attributes. After accessing the Augmentrex 3000, simply place the item to be enhanced into it and then select one of the available options. The machine will then randomly apply a modifier of the corresponding rarity that you selected.
Mechanics
The Augmentrex can add Special Attributes (affixes) to items, up to a total of four affixes, including starting affixes on the item. It is important to note the difference between Special Attributes and Inherent Attributes. These latter attributes do not count towards the maximum.
The cost of improving an item with a common, rare or legendary affixes is defined with a simple formula for each.
- Common: Item Level * 100
- Rare: Item Level * 400
- Legendary: Item Level * 1600
The added affix is randomly chosen from affixes that are possible for that specific item. A Marksman can add skill bonuses for Engineer skills. Thus, the class that pays for the augmentation has no effect on what skill bonuses might appear. (This is often viewed as less than ideal... but it's really just part of the gambling risk.)

- Quest items
- Dye kits
- Mods
- Named items (i.e. Rat Monkey Claw and Shulgoth's Infernal Storm)
- Consumables
- Zombots and similar pets
