Korean Close Beta Testers Pleased with Hellgate London
Posted 24th Nov 2007 10:12 AM by extrakun [Edit this post]

Apparently Korea has their own closed beta test and many find it to be a fun and satisfying game to play. The distribution of the game is handled by Hanbitsoft, and incidentally its logo also appears on the SEA boxed set version.

Gamers had to gauge the game according to five criteria - graphic, addiction, action, fun and sound. Graphic scored the highest at 91% while Sound scored the lowest at 86.2%.
It seems that the Koreans are quite in love with Hellgate: London. The game was given an average user rating of 89.2 points - that’s a very decent store given that StarCraft is the national sport there.

The survey was carried out to over 250,000 Hellgate: London closed beta gamers in Korea of which 25,404 of them responded. The average age of the participants was 29.5 and not surprisingly, 90.7 of them was male.

Hellgate: London is also available in Singapore and is operated by IAHGames.

Looking at Hanbitsoft’s homepage, it looks like they are going to be the distributor for Mythos too.

extrakun, you should note that IAH Games is largely responsible for all the crap that happened in SEA.  It’s not a surprise since IAH Games is not exactly an honest merchant (see what they did to rip people off here:  http://hellgate.incgamers.com/forums/blogs/viewblog.php?userid=490&entry=4) Hanabisoft and EA names are all put on HGL box because they were publishers when the game was under development, which means they were partly responsible for development thus they were credited (where as IAH Games just sold games and setup server, which they can’t even do well appearently).

Hopefully all the nastier bugs get fixed by the time the game releases in Korea, so hgl at least get a clean start there.
